My parents got me a gift card to Woodcraft for Christmas, so I picked up a few of their slinger kits. I hope we can buy 'em out, so hopefully they'll start stocking more slinger stuff. The kit came with two decent looped band sets, but I probably won't run 'em.
If you guys are interested, I can throw together a quick review vid on the kit.
Anyways, here's the first one. I used some figured oak and Spectraply scraps with green felt for spacers, G-Flex 650, and mosaic dowels. 20180207_170418.jpg 20180207_180405.jpg 20180220_154438.jpg 20180220_154338-1.jpg 20180220_154730.jpg 20180220_154659.jpg 20180220_154647.jpg

Great work on that kit! It looks like a nice handful. The spectraply is eye catching, as is the oak. I'm a little surprised it came with looped tubes. I think of that style fork as a OTT flatband shooter.

Flat bands would be my inclination, but the tips are razor sharp. @WeldItWill had the idea to completely flatten the core prior to scaling it, which I may do for the other one. I have an Idea of a BB tube configuration that I'm gonna try. This frame is pretty tiny...

I have put on and busted off a set of scales. It is now simmering on my desk waiting to be cooked. Yours looks good.

You made it look good. I never tried that type of fork tip.

Great work nice to see you building again, shame the fork gap is to big to enter into the contest.

Nice work. Those tips actually work quite well with a little bit of sanding.

I may sand 'em down to try flat bands...Just doesn't look like there's a ton of material left there to make a dull ridge...

I had to stop and think about "pre-turned" tubes, @Diabloslinger.
      I decided:
      1. You're not just rattlin' my chain
      2. It could be done with tubes
      3. It's worth a try!
      Thanks for the idea, Bro!

Got 'er rigged up...shoots great! .25" steel is fast. Tried it preturned @ first, and it wasn't good, so I put 'em on traditional style. 20180221_171839.jpg 20180221_171638.jpg 20180221_171940.jpg 20180221_171623.jpg
