Here's a vid talking about some pouch grip variations and a way to practice your butterfly (or any) release without shooting yourself in the face.

Nice helpful video , a bit longer and lighter bands and I'll be able to get to full butterfly and still have my beard!!

    Thanks for the feedback, guys!
I notice that @Kalevala uses a short draw, even though his beard is braided. I guess that's not a complete solution!
It's just hard to have it all!

    Yo, Brother!
Your interest kicked me into gear on this vid! I've seen several posts similar to yours on the forums and YouTube. It is a fun style for shooting, but a little scary to learn. I hope I could light a candle on a possible path here.
    Thanks for the motivation!

@KawKan, because of Your video, I made today butterfly band set and have to admit, it wasn't so bad.
0,45 BSB, 15mm straight cut and 500% elongation.
Clay balls were flying scary fast

    Excellent video!

I was just trying, emphasize trying, to explain the intricacies of the release.

    Thanks, Ray.

Thanks for checking it out, @Sammy Shuford!

I think the full butterfly shooters are a small subset of our arcane group. And that's okay. But, it could be one of those crazy ideas that gets into your head, and the next thing you know you're cutting long bands just to see how it feels to pull 'em out as far as you can reach in each direction...

But like @Palmettoflyer said, it's not for you, yet!

    LOL!
