    Greetings SlingshotCommunity friends!!
Having been challenged to do a trade by a friend in another forum, I've come up with this very classic natural.
Hand carved on a very sturdy and well aged piece of cork oak (Quercus suber), it was finished with my customary linseed oil/beeswax recipe.
Went today to the field to give it a try. Sits very well in the hand (although I left it with a tad longer handle, as my hands are not the biggest)
Since I've been playing more chess lately, although I play chess for more than 20 years, I've named it "The Rook" :)
    Hope you guys like it!!!
    Cheers ...Q

That natural is really a step above what most of us aspire to, Q!
That oak has classic grain - looks like it could be a thousand years old.
And your shaping is clearly classically inspired - or just inspired, or just inspiring!
      Thanks for posting!

Thank you so much for your REWARDING feedback, my friend!:tu::tu::tu::tu:
This one ended well much because of its raw material. I was just the hand that scrapped the unnecessary, if you will. I hope to post more naturals from now on, but things are still shaky down here.
You're an awesome, wise and positive man!!:)
      Best regards ...Q

      Thank you so much, Cruiser!!
Actually, I gave it a good thought about carving or not grooves on this one. The design of the fork tips demanded that, but in most works, I'll go "grooveless" :)
      Cheers ...Q

Sometimes, less is more. Everything has an evolution and it is supposed, in my opinion, to achieve simplicity and functionality. At least in slingshots :)

Forgive me if I don't comment more often, this year I've been too many hours in front of the computer. This saga still goes on...
Best wishes, my friend. We'll be talking!!

LOVE that sling—Just beautiful and simple. If you'd ever like to trade natties, I'd be honoured to make something for you.
