We went on a family walk down the snowmachine trails and the dog flushed up a late season grouse. We came home and I cooked it over the fire. Enjoy!

I quite like threading the needle on shots, and this one was tight. If you look in the red circle her head is obscured by a branch and there is a left to right angle that does not belong on a spruce branch, that is her neck. There was only about an inch of it available and the window was only about 2.5 inches wide, but the shot was close. It was about 9 yards. She was moving a lot so I could see her in there, I just didn't have a lot of options on the shot. I am glad it worked out! I will trade one .410 lead ball for a meal any time!
