This is the 8th SWOPFS frame that I have built. With each one, I am trying to do something a little bit different than the previous one. This one has two new features that I wanted to use. First is the aluminum core that was cut by @joe-032 a few months back. Finally got around to using it and it is laminated between two slices of Rosewood. Next on the palm swell there is a thin piece of orange G10 as a layer for the Osage Orange pieces on top. I sanded down to 400 as I like to feel the wood and finish is only BLO.

Just as I was finishing up #8, I got a surprise inside the Saunders Wing Pass-around package (another story) where I found the SWOPFS built by Mike @Stankard757 with his amazing book matched split frame signature design.

Banded everything up with my favorite BSB 0.5mm semi butterfly bands and quickly got to work on some can cutting and tin can surgery.

Starting to think about No 9.......

Together with Mike's Split Frame Design. Palm swell are from a coffee table

Certified, It works. Less than 10 shots on this can. Bottom went flying over the fence.

Some Sweet shooting on a Sweetwater can! Nice Mike, great shooter!

Wrapped up with some play time on this one.

The rosewood, G10 and Osage are great combinations! Old number 8 looks like a winner!
Split frames are always nice, too!

Thank you, Bimbo. Sure hope the one I sent you will find its way to your home soon. If it ever makes to you, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Thanks Ray, your Osage builds are always inspiring. I discovered that "Pen Blanks" are the perfect size for making the palm swells. Found a good deal on some Osage blanks when I was on business travel in Ohio.

Pat, it is all your fault! You sent me the one built by Perry and really didn't know what it was until Muz and Rich clued me in. The SWOPFS has the sexy curves in just the right places and they are amazing shooters.

    Thank you, Ron!

Thanks Muz, the SWOPFS has been a fun journey. Perry @Pawpawsailor set some high standards, and I just happy that there are a lot of pictures of his work to look at for inspiration.

Thank you Rich, glad you like them and thank you for your building inspiration too. I enjoy all the frames that I have received from you and consider your work the standard in high quality. Hope the SWOPFS that I sent you is working well? It was No. 6 in the build series. I probably should be numbering them?

Thanks Mike, yes it is in good company and found a permanent home! I have a feeling that my No. 9 is going to include the split frame design concept! Great shooter too!

    Thank you!

    Thanks Andy!
