A couple weeks ago I could not spell nor pronounce SWOPFS. Didn't know what it was and could not have used it in a sentence. Now I've built one!

Completely inspired by Mr Muz's recent trade, and the fact that I got one from Cruiser, I have fallen in love with the little gems. When I got it from Cruiser in early December, just thought it was a funky PFS with a sidways fat handle. Now I know it is a Slim Waist Original Pickle Fork that was build by PawPawsailor. So if you read this Perry, awesome and you do great work! I also learned that the same frame made its way from Mr Muz to Cruiser back at the beginning of time and the dark ages. If it passed any other hands, just speak up as I would like to know.

So long story short, I did my research, studied lots of pictures, drew a router template in Fusion 360, cut out a bamboo core, and made a Purple heart/Walnut palm swell. Using the one from Cruiser as a guide, I shaped and sanded until it looked about right. Finish is Spar Urethane as I have read that Purple Heart needs ozone protection to stay purple.

Honorable mention to Muz as I have shared pics with him and he's given some really good advice to me along this build. Thank's Muz, the tips were very helpfull.

This is the original piece from Muz to Cruzer to Me.

Not bad for first shots on a brand new frame! It's a keeper for sure.

Covert5 has us all doing horizontal cuts this year! Nice change in the hanging can.

I am overjoyed that it landed in such appreciative and definitely super creative paws. Doesn't happen that often.

@Palmettoflyer from what i know it was made by PWP for Ray Bazonski, sent to Cap'n Joe , to Me ( thats my hand in the pic ) to Cruiser and then to you

Its made from phenolic core, ebony scales and rosewood swells.

She is a fine pice, and THE only Slingshot i regret getting rid of, Please let me know if you ever get bored of it or fancy a trade etc

    Enjoy

Thanks Rich and great to know the trail it took to get to me. You'll be the first I think of if I get ready to pass it along. Good to know where the pic originated too! I think I either grabbed it from a post by Muz, or just an internet save. Too lazy to take my own picture of it! It really is a beautiful frame and great to know it has lots of experience too!

Thanks everyone for the great comments. I'm hoping to make a few more of these. Sure doesn't require a lot of material and they shoot really nice.

Perry, thank you and it means a lot to hear from you. Are you building any more of these? I'd be the first in line if you do!

very nice Monroe, the purple heart is awesome :cool::cool: ... I should consider a SWOPFS (btw what it means besides a PFS) for my next build, when ? I don't know yet LOL!
