Take a look at this guys...
Some sort of over sized willow fork that had been cut down and left by the side of a fishing lake until I found it covered in moss, it looked like spalting city.
As you guys know spalting is a fungus that essentially rots the wood so I wasn't very trusting in its strength.
So I vacuum stabilized. Using a vacuum chamber I presently bought off eBay, using a product called cactus juice a stabilizing resin that is heat activated.
I heavily shaped it first whilst the wood was nice and easy to shape and sand. Then stabilized it and fine sanded it to 12000 grit with camellia oil and bees wax to finish.
The air with in the wood has completely been replaced with the resin creating not only a sturdy strong catty but a fantastic plasticy feel.

Two thumbs up! I really like the way you carved this slingshot. How did you like the stabilizing process with cactus juice?
