Decided I really wanted to build today. In the backyard with no shade. But I'm finished it.

Awesome, what are you going to build with the rest of the skim board?

Let me know when the wife laughing at you stops. Mine is still doing it to me after 31 years of marriage. Most of the time, it's just the "look"!

the PFS Mule would do well in the skim board material.

By the way, you and I are probably the only ones on the forum that know what a skim board is! I grew up on Folly Beach, SC and we would find pieces of plywood and cut a big circle. Spent many hours trying to learn, but never got the hang of it. Stayed with surfing and water skiing as a teenager.

Already printed out ;) trying to figure out my materials. Everything I use is reclaim or dead fall.

We used the big Tupperware tops, ply anything else we could find. Pretty sure I spent more time on my back :)

And the skim board passed the PFS test. Two fork hits inside top corner no breaks, cracks or chips. 20200628_210545_Film1.jpg

Looks like a pretty good test drive! Good to know the frame and you survived the fork hits.

Me too. I was kind of surprised no real visible damage at all. The way that 3/8 disappeared off to Never Never Land I was expecting at least a depression.
