I was noticing a let-off of resistance at Max draw...the bands seemed like they lacked power...even with an active shot....they also failed fairly quickly...much faster than everyone was saying...so I tested another set...same issues..

Well, today I had a "eureka" moment while cutting a few more bands to test...there was an obvious grain to the bands...I was cutting across the grain of the latex...(or am I just crazy...latex has a grain, right?)

Cutting the with the grain made them snappier and fully resistant at max draw...I am so happy that I saw this...
I like this stuff, alot..not sure if I like more than TBG because it is what I am used to shooting...but, I think it's close to the same...

Again, if I am just imagining this, please let me know...later though...because I am enjoying thinking that I am right...lol

I've noticed that let-off of tension at max draw (I just set up my 1st bands with this stuff). I'll have to go look for the grain when I get home (reading glasses required). I thought they were slower too, but they seem to have the same destructive power as TBG (chrony test coming soon).

Take a look and see...I am sure I'm not imagining it...the bands really did improve...

The roll I purchased has, what appears to be, faintly visible lines (dark grey) running in one direction....maybe I'm just imagining it but cutting it with those lines has improved the performance, a lot...

so the question is, are you cutting perpendicular to the roll? are you still getting long enough bands?

I'm gonna have to check...I'm sure I cut it the same as I do with my TBG...roll out the length of my bands and cut....but, I will double check...

Actually I know that is how I did it at first...so, yes the proper way is perpendicular to the roll...and the rolls are wider than TBG....

I've been cutting them length wise parallel and they last good for me but don't have the punch. In fact after they get about a 100 or so shots they became stretched and lose some of the power. Let us know how your test go.

Thanks...i acquired it in a trade with @BarkyBow....he custom made it for me...it's got burl scales, alum core, and a tough epoxy finish...and edc/hunter that is beautiful but I'm not afraid to drop it or bang it up...

I think the die cut bands from simple shot are also cut perpendicular to the roll.
Because the rolls are 10.5" wide and the die cut bands are 10.5" long.
But maybe this is only coincidence??!

Our die cut bands are not cut perpendicular to the roll

I have some that I have not cut yet. Reading this, I pulled it out to look it over. I cannot see a grain. But I did notice that when I hold a corner and stretch it, then stretch the other side of the corner that there is a definite difference in resistance. Interesting .

So, there will be no difference in performance depending on which way the bands are cut?
