Ok just because @luk got me thinking “tank”
Conus for shooting 44 cal hunting
“ got to be big and a tank “ now I love the Standard conus “myflex” with the 1/2 gap
But wanted something that will handle all of the recoil on long thick big heavy bands and a wider gap just because it takes fork hits out of the Picture so it’s 1/2” wider than Standard and the grove has got to be bigger than 1/2 Standard . So gloves fit and the wide gap gives me both . So I apologize to @Arturo Borquez for bastardizing ? his conus but it’s @luk falt! :)
    Thanks luk
    This is of Bocote !

Ok so normally for the gap I would grab my file and my Dremel tool and no problem but because I wanted a bigger gap for my gloves I got to do it a different way it work great for this project
Used a hack saw ! File ,Dremel tool
Step one mark lines then saw

Did you also cut the target side groove with a hacksaw and then milled it with a chisel or something?

I Cut up and down to the Deaph of the gap then turned it horizontal cut with the hacksaw cut long grove to the death of the finger gap then started with file just broke off extra as it came off when I was filing

Perfect conus wide gap is a good idea although I never had a fork hit with the conus I always felt it was gonna happen!

Not my idea ! I used the fork tips of the bonegrip pfs for size and a pocket predator over the top for the fork gap size and conus body tadd wider and thick . So I used everybody in this one saw @Arturo Borquez make one like it “ wide gap” I just put the gap at my favorite shooting ott slingshot at that size . , and the gap is on about 4 of my slings it likes me ,.....:) used @luk tank idea
And my idea of Bocote!!!!! Lol
Sorry if I left anybody out :)

great build with that AWFUL WOOD AGAIN :p:drool: (jealous LOL)
@Clint no apologies needed LOL ! I always said the Conus is more a "concept" than an "exact replica", maybe the last tip only and only if you hold it "lazy grip, finger tips, tilted forward" as I do I suggest a tilted gap as shown in this video

Excellent! Even though my conus is stable, I LOVE bigger as it almost rests in my hand without twisting.

Another beautiful Conus! That Bocote is stunning.
And I love the build photos. It's always fun and instructive to see inside the build!

OK, I'm wearing a mask but I caught the Conus-19 bug bad - Doctors say I will lose my taste for Chinese wire slingshots and they don't know if I will get it back ;- )

I shot the two Conuses I have and I really do enjoy the feel of them. I may model up another 3D version with a slightly thinner mid section for my hands size.

Clint, I must say you are making some beautiful slingshots my friend ... kudos to you and your talent !

      wll

Lol I am all over the place on bands I have multiple conus’s from. Light bands to heavy hunting bands butterfly semi butterfly
      So
I Suggest just take your favorite slingshot take the bands off put it on your conus and you will be golden
