I haven't been shooting much PFS lately. But the return of @Arturo inspired me.
I built this little Conus from the chunk you see in the first photo. Sanded off the tool marks and gave it two coats of wipe on BLO.
It is very comfortable to shoot.

    Thanks, Arturo!

Your take on the "Conus" design takes it up a notch by making it more portable a easy to shoot. Arturo will be proud to see!!
Thank you so much for sharing

Great looking Conus Ray, I love how the grain rings are concentric at the forks

      Thanks, Darrell!
You know how I love Natties, and the rings do bring that to mind. But, it is also a side benefit of me taking a diagonal cut off that limb to start with. Being averse to anything that looks like avoidable work, I thought I have the least wood to remove that way.

      Thank you SO MUCH!!!
You're very kind. LOVELY build on the "Conus" again.
Didn't mention before, but I liked very much the addition of band grooves.
      Seemed to work very well!
      Cheers ...Q

      Thanks, Clint.
I like the size also, and that surprises me a little. Most of my PFS builds go 2-1/2 inches wide with a gap of 1/2-inch or less. I do that because the only PFS Shooting Competition that came close to happening used those size limits. Works for me. I started out with a 2-1/2 inch fork width in mind, but found the center of the grain off-set when I cut her open. I chose to run my center line with the center of the heartwood and give up a 1/2-inch of width. No regrets.
I like Osage Orange alot. And I'm surrounded by it!

Beautiful! The design is truly a work of art with inherent magic that makes the Conus a joy to shoot. This is a great inspiration to me to look for an opportunity to build my own natural version. Thank you for sharing with us and great shooting in the video!
