G10 is the easier of the two. It sands like a dream. If you wanna do micarta, make your own and practice with it before buying any

Be sure to protect your lungs when working with those materials.

Look for a tutorial on you tube, there are a bunch of them and dont reallly seem complicated.

I've never been able to get my hands on G10, but i have worked on micarta before, it's pretty much like working on a hard wood, polished really nice, just have to be patient

And try to do a lot of wet sanding, it's a bit better at containing any floating particles...

Micarta is easy to make . Some epoxy and layers are all you need here is a mini scout I made with my homemade bluejean micarta the center is green construction paper . And the ble core in the second one is just 2 part epoxy and a scotch bright pad IMG_20190211_154502556.jpg IMG_20190214_194150625.jpg

I disagree with this. Some micarta is difficult to get smooth and some types don't have the even colors that g10 will give you but g10 is much harder on tools and I find it more difficult to cut and shape. I think it comes down to personal preference and the tools available to the builder.

I took a boys scout group to a after “the illegals protested they want to be American” clean up party we collected all of the American flags laying on the ground , instead of burning them we cut them up into small pieces mix fiberglass resin pressed them all out and all 20 Boy Scout made a knife handle now the flag will live forever and be handed down to The next generation because nobody gives up their first knife they made .
