I made this little fella with an white oak core with mahogany scales with bamboo pins . The white oak is solid stuff tough as nails . Really like the scales I have a few planks with some cool spalting . Thanks for looking guys

Very nice Smitty and definitely agree on the white oak.

I’ve got a nice source local to me, that has had some amazing spalted grain in the limbs.

Jason, that NanoAxe is an interesting design. Your build is beautiful with the spalted wood.

I might give the Axe template a go sometime soon. Looks like it should handle well for PFS shooting.

Have a look at the bang grooves on template does that seem odd to you . I always bin told to keep them up as high as u can . Have bin told the lower your grooves the more hand slap

I have heard that, but never taken time to prove it. I have also heard that the shape of the fork tip and band tie location are factors. For myself, I don't worry too much about it. Band it up and just have a good time. Most of my PFS frames are without grooves.

Ya I am not fond of making grooves lol but a frame like this or the pickle bone u need them . That picklebone I sent u I tried without them but had do them . U could probably get away with just doing the outside of forks
