    Dear Friends,
    I need your kind advice.

I shoot 4mm BBs, my bands dimensions are 32 cm active length, 6 mm width and 0.55 mm thickness.
Some of my bands tolerate around 400-500 shots and some of them break early, only around 100 shots or less!
They mostly break near the pouch.
I don't think my bands are under too much pressure, actually I will probably reduce the active length to 30 cm.
I don’t use tying jigs, I stretch the bands and I tie them using constrictor knot.
What do you think, what could be the reason for early breakage of my bands?

I don't see a problem with your tying technique. I shoot very similar setups with small steel.
I think this is the place where bands break, because it is a highly stressed location. If you had a rotary cutter blade nicking the latex the breaks would show up in various places, so I don't think that's a problem. And your thumbnail does not look long or sharp enough to nick the latex while mounting the pouch.
I get better life when my bands are stressed less - about 1/4 my draw length.
Perhaps you could get the speed you want and better band life if you widened the band to 8mm and cut it a little longer?

As kawkan said whatever band /tube you use they all seem to break there more so probably if you twist and tweak . That's why I use tubes more reliable and a bigger shot count .

    Ray,

    Thank you for your advice.

I was thinking of reducing my bands length to increase the power.
Shooting with the current band length, I don’t feel that bands are under much pressure.
I was thinking maybe I should reduce my bands length to use the maximum elongation of the bands and increase the power!

But I will take your advice and increase the length and width of the bands.
Hopefully this will optimize the durability and also the power of my bands.

    One question,
Do you think increasing the band length will have any positive or negative effect on accuracy while using projection aiming Technic?

    Wishing you all the best
    Hamid

Thank you for your answer my friend.
I totally understand your point, tying the bands is the unpleasant part.
Specially if you have to redo it only after a few shots.

    Hamid,

It seems that when a band change affects the ammo speed, the point of impact will also change. But shooters can adapt to that, as long as the point of impact is consistent.
I think you will be okay with a small change the projection aiming.

I had the same problem, switching from string (from inside paracord) and constrictor knot to using elastic plastic band. It solved my problem probably pulled the knot too tight.

    Dear Friends,
Today I tried a setup with difference dimensions, 36 cm long and 1 cm wide.
Shoot around 150 shots. so far no problem except a few hand slaps, I have probably over killed it :).
8mm width as Kawkan had recommended would be perfect.
I think with this band setup I shoot more accurate.

Thank you again and wishing you all the best
    Hamid
