Started building a PFS Mule from Monroe’s template.

Materials are 3/8” African Mahogany laminated to 1/4” linen phenolic with 1/4” brass tubing for pins.

Once I got started, I decided I wanted to narrow the forks from 1” down to 3/4” while keeping the outside dimensions the same.

This changed it from a PFS to a small gapper, but on the plus side the gap is the same as another of my favorite frames to shoot - The Pickle Bone.

Shaped, sanded, and a BLO bath

All banded up and ready to go :D

Thanks @Palmettoflyer for sharing the template!

Thanks. Yup, African Mahogany. I really enjoy using it.

Wow, your build is amazing! You did really well and love the extra wide gap. The Mahogany is beautiful too! Been wanting to try this wood but don't have any. Great to see yours and love the way it looks. Nice touch on the shaped fork tips too. Glad you like the design and it is working well for you.

      Thanks Cruiser!

Thanks Monroe. I'm still fairly new to building, and try to learn a little with each one.

I really like working with the mahogany. There's a place near here that sells it in in 35" lengths at various thicknesses pretty reasonably, so you can get a few frames out of a piece. I'm still working through the piece I got back in March, and have at least two frames worth left.

Appreciate the comments, and thanks again for drawing up and sharing the template.

      Thanks :)
