Almost done sanding this Maple fork that was a little too thin for a comfortable grip so I layered a few scraps for a palm swell. I still have some sanding before finishing it up. 1001201208.jpg 1001201208a.jpg 1001201208b.jpg

Cool, I always prefer the swell on the other side as your holding it.

Nice! Great grain and I like the add-on. Is there a standard glue/epoxy used for this kind of piece? Thanks.

Oh, that fork was a great find!
And I really like how you shaped it.
That shape shoots nice, even without a sweet palm swell.

Thanks bottlecap!! If it's just wood to wood I'll use wood glue. If it's any different material to wood, I'll use epoxy.

It looks like a sweet shooter. Is there anything else you would change about the design? I think I will whip one up this morning.

How tall is the Palm Swell? about an inch?

4AC2D64A-FBA3-4906-AF7F-57ADD929E595.jpeg I cut my Dragon out this morning to see how I liked the fit... I got a little wild with the router around the pinkie hole... @Devils son in law did you make your SS the size of the template? Mine leans towards a high pinch grip. Not sure if I want to do that with tips angled the way they are. Palm swell would lower pinch point.

It's close to the template size, the fork I had limited me somewhat for size. I love the feel of the Dragon. I hope your router didn't ruin yours, it looks cool!

The Palm swell is about 7/8" off the Maple.

Here she is with more sanding, band grooves and a few coats of BLO. I'll band it up tomorrow, once the rain stops. 1004201234.jpg 1004201235a.jpg 1004201236.jpg
