    Dear Friends,
    My name is Hamid.
Since a few months a have found my passion for making and shooting PFS.
They are easy to make and fun to shoot, but aiming sometimes is frustrating.
I'm recently trying to aim using Projection aiming which I guess is invented by master Arturo, but so far I have not been very successful.
I think I'm not doing the aiming method correctly!
I use a self-made OPFS, 4 mm steel balls, my bands are 6 mm wide and 32 cm active length and I use bottle caps as target (I can hit the target from 5 meters but inconstantly).

What is your Technic for aiming?
What are you bands sets dimensions?
What ammo do you use, which size?
Please forgive my bad English, it is obviously not my native language :)

    Welcome to the forum!
With narrow forks and a long draw, I sight down the bands and that gets me on a line with the target. For elevation adjustment, I take a few shots and form a mental picture of how far to aim below the target.
And hey, a bottle cap is a pretty small target, even at 5 meters!

I keep the fork width relatively the same for most of my PFS 55-60 mm. Like KawKan I sight down the bands with it just under my cheek bone as a reference to reduce the projection aiming part. A good pouch release is really important. Fairly consistent at 10m with 1 inch targets and bottle caps.

I shoot 2 ways , if frame is sideways (gangsta) aim down bands with floating anchor behind my head .
When shooting the Frame upright anchor to ear and shoot completely instinctive point and shoot

I shoot like @KawKan ,but with a short draw and fixed anchor.

Here is how I teach all new shooters to shoot any frame...
    1. Make the ammo go away from you, especially imoortant step for PFS.
    2. Make a small bull's eye on a BIg Target and make the ammo go away from you while looking at the small bull's eye. You will start to hit the Big Target.
    3. Shoot daily till you start to hit the small bull's eye.

Every step should be FUN becauae that is FUNdamental if slingshots.

    Welcome to the Forum.
All the previous forms are correct although my favorite is to point as it is done with any OTT, then tilt your head over the bands.
The more you tilt your head, the lower the point of impact.
Obviously your anchor point will be very close to your eye, do not forget to use protection

    Hi Hamid! hope this helps.

I shoot 3/8 steel ammo, usually .60 and .65 thick bands, my tapers go from 20 to 15 for pigeon hunting and for backyard plinking i use 15 to 10 and 12 to 8 mm tapers.

As for my aiming, i shoot full butterfly and hold my sling sideways and my reference point is just on the top of my cheekbone, and i aim with the top corner of the slingshot, like a regular OTT slingshot, i just adjusted my reference point to suit the narower frame.

When i shoot 1/4 inch ammo, i cut my bands at 1cm straight, and it send those little BB's fast as hell!

    Hello Sir,
    Thank you for welcoming me.
Yesterday evening, I tried to aim the way you explained.
It worked excellent for me, I was able to hit the target from 6 meters 5-6 times in a row.
Yesterday I could listen to the satisfying sound of BBs hitting the bottle cap for a longer time.
    A BIG THANK YOU.
    Wishing you all the best
    Hamid

    Hello Sir,
    Thank you for your comment.
I tried to aim the same way as Ray has explained, it worked very good for me.
    What ammo do you use?
What are your band set dimensions?

    Wishing you all the best

Welcome Hamid. I shoot 3/8 steel with 3/4 inch or 5/8 inch straight cut bands no tapers setup for half or full BFly

    Hello Sir,
    Thank you for your comment.
    That' s great advise.
When I started to learn to shoot normal frames, I almost did a similar thing.
I used to aim a bottle cap in the middle of a paper sheet.
It worked great for finding my anchor point.
But I guess you Technic for teaching, will help to develop instinctive shooting, am I right?
    What ammo do you use?
What are you band set dimensions?

    Wishing you all the best

    Hello Sir,
Thank you for your welcoming me.
Also thank you for your advice.
Very nice shooting and very interesting frame:tu:.
In this video you shoot short draw, do you also twist and tweak?

    Wishing you all the best

The quick answer is yes, I twist and tweak but the specific reality is that I tie my bands in preturned pouch configuration, below I leave more details:
    https://www.slingshotcommunity.com/threads/pre-turned-90°-pouch-attachment-for-sideways.3845/
As for my rare frames, I also leave some links that may awaken something in you, do not stop experimenting, if something does not convince you, look for your own solution and then share with others:)
This video is about weird PVC frame, 4.5mm steel ammo, preturned band set for semibuterfly style

I don't think you're far from wrong with projection aiming as this sets you up correctly. Just push/point the forks at the target as you release with a twisted pouch. Feels sorta like a flip, but really this gives a better passageway.

I mostly use tubes 1636 tubes for 6 or 7 mm steel and 2040 tubes for 8mm steel these sizes are for gangsta style for instinctive shooting with the frame upright I prefer a heavier tube something like 2050 cut short
With 9.5mm steel / marbles /10mm lead for ammo .

I uae 8mm or 6mm steel ammo, but my band dimensions only work for me. I have very short draw length due to arthritis.

I like both 1632 single tubes or 12mm to 8mm tapers at 5x elongation factor.
