A few days ago Jake reached out interested in possibly trading for one the meager mules I had posted. Of course I jumped at the opportunity and we pretty much executed a blind trade. As most of you know I’m still relatively new at “serious”building and other than my old faithful Trumarks I haven’t experimented that much. Well guys and gals I’m through the roof with my package, however I feel like I may have done him a little short with what I sent.

    Look at this!
An awesome little maple fork (you won’t find this around my house) with a colorful little spacer in the handle.

The bloodwood mule is gorgeous. I’ve actually been looking at different wood for making a nice one for myself and here it is!

The oak fork will most likely be banded up and ready for Dennis the Menace style action before most of you read this post.

A couple of pouches which is awesome as I have only used the small simpleshot so far.

And last but not least some kind of strange foreign stretchy stuff. Is this alien material what you guys make these “flat bands” out of? Lol

I honestly hope he is satisfied with his as I just haven’t been been in the hobby this serious long enough to even come close to matching this kind of trade.

    Thank you again!

Gene is trying to down play his building skills!!! He hooked me up very well with 2 nice laminated bamboo frames with all the trimmings. He may be new at building but he's very good at what he does!! I love these new additions to the family. Thanks again, MacGyver!!! 0217212311.jpg 0217212311a.jpg

If you don't use flat bands what do you use, tubes,or chained rubber band i'm not saying their is anything wrong with them there has been many pigeons and rabbits put in the pot from chained rubber bands and tubes are awesome too,so i was just wondering what you used?

By and large tubes. I just like the convenience and durability of them although I have rarely used any flat other than an occasional 107 if you can consider that one. Honestly I really preferred the Trumark RRT on my old Trumark frames for a long time and I recently got the urge to get back into it only to see that I couldn’t get those any more. I’ll slap on some chained #32s in a heartbeat as well though.

I imagine I will jump head deep into flats soon. I enjoy messing around and tinkering so it’s just a matter of time

Actually i was going to ask if you ever tried the 107's or105's just depends on if you have a long or short draw ir you want to know anything at all about chained bands the member @Nico is all he shoots and he said most years 60%of the meat in his pot comes from a natty fork and chained band he can fill you in all the different sizes and amount to use he's a real hunter
