@Palmettoflyer said he refined the 3d printing process and said I could have another colt pfs so of course I didn't say no. Not only did he send the colt he also sent me a mule pfs which is a very nice idea a d I'm slightly annoyed I didn't think of it lol. Anyway heres some pictures and a massive thank you to Monroe for sending them, I have something in mind as a thank you. 20201018_120322.jpg 20201018_120331.jpg

Very nice, got a few from Monroe myself and he does great work with that 3D printer, and he is A-OK in my book.

      That blue Colt looks great.

You are quite welcome and glad to see that they made it to you ok. I think that was about 7 days to make it across the pond. So shipping is getting a lot better.

Please rest assured that YOU had everything to do with the design of the PFS Mule. If you had never asked for the PFS Colt, the PFS Mule would have never been born. Hold the two together and you will clearly see that they both have the same fork shape. Only the handles are different. So the pedigree of the Colt lives in the Mule.

Construction method is to print each layer and then assemble from the middle out. One improvement to this 3D print design is the internal structure with 4mm steel rods. The first one I made for you had 2.5 mm steel rods. The 4mm rods gives it a nice heft in the hand feel.

Enjoy and looking forward to hearing how they shoot!

Thanks Darrell, I'm glad to see these simple designs getting out to our brothers.

Funny about the blue filament. I had the idea to use blue and had to order the filament. I was working from home when the delivery came. Less than 15 minutes between delivery, to on the printer and printing the Colt pieces. All just in time to finish up the build and get it into the post before work travel ended my home week.

Awesome!! So basically you printed all layers separately them laminated them together? I'm a little technically challenged but I know the end results look good!! :tu:

That’s it. I designed into the layers alignment holes that keep them centered. Medium CA glue bonds it together.

I sure hope "utterly chuffed to bits" is a good thing? I worked in Scotland for almost a year some time back. Thought I had a good handle on the English language, but could hardly understand anyone I spoke with.

Good to hear you are enjoying the design. Be sure to thank Mr Muz for his inspiration contribution to the concept.

I'm sorry you had to work in Scotland, its a lovely place but its ruined by the Scottish, I spent 18 months there in my childhood.

I found the people were nice, it was the rain and cold that I had more than my share. We put our wet work boots on the hot water boiler every night to dry them for the next day.

They just don't like the English especially the further north you go. I was only 11 when we moved up there but was very aware of the hatred towards the English.
