Out with the old and in with the new! .44 lead for target practice really takes a toll on a catchbox! Went with this setup...for now (lets be real it never stops). It’s a 30 gallon water drum. The sound impact is definitely louder not but it is so much lighter and looks cleaner and more effective!! There’s no more bounce outs, but I do notice the ammo hits the pillow case and will either swing up and hit the lid or still hit the back of the barrel, sometimes a mixture of both. Good thing is this stuff is a a lot stronger than particle board. Any advice to keep that from happening without putting so much backdrop I start getting bounce outs? I got this zero bounce out idea from the forums but I’m pretty sure that guy only shot 3/8 steel so the energy was absorbed a lot better.

Target ideas are more than welcome too! I KEEP BREAKING MINE

Looks good! Try giving the backstop a lil' more clearance on the bottom.

It’s exactly like mine except I have my target located inside the barrel about 4 inches cause my bounce outs were usually bounce backs.

The blue barrel is the best catch box, got one of my own. Targets inside though.
