I recently got some .62 GZK and am finding it a little lacking in power. What do you guys recommend for back yard plinking and ISCOR challenges?

I like 9-inch bands, cut 3/4 to 3/8-inch (19-9.5mm) tapers with a 36 inch draw for 3/8-inch steel ammo. This cut works for me with Simple-Shot .50 and Sumeike .50 and .55, and Precise .55.

I like to shoot 7/8 to 5/8 tappers for 3/8"

Unless I missed it, what is your draw length? If you are anchoring on your face, this is way too long. 9" band should stretch past your head. Unless you are ~7 feet tall? I would be using a 7" band for a 30" draw and should work fine for backyard targets.

Shorten the bands. That'll increase the power. I love .58 and .62 GZK with wider tapers like 28-15 or 25-13 for hunting with lead. About 550% elongation, 6 inch active length.

Just gotta play with your bands a bit! With the right active length .62 can be cut to send just about anything with some authority
