I got tired of standing by a machine and buzzing noises, decided to carve up an gnarly apple fork, it was twisted in growth and had quite a bit of intersecting limbs.
Shape and shaped and left some bark on for a palm pad, sanded it up to 600 then added some BLO to the surface, heated it up to open the pores and let in the oil. Let it set up for about 20 mins then did a superglue finish. Been experimenting with the CA finish and so far my best results are superglue, then 0000 steel wool, then Meguire's scratch remover (super fine grit). That makes it a nice dull sheen and it's still grippy.
