Just wondering, as I would love to try one out but have absolutely no talent to make a wooden one. If I had the files, I could print one up just to see if I liked it ;)

    Thanks for the info.

Arturo's build videos are absolutely amazing and very educational.

I have worked on a 3D print concept but never printed it. Tonight when I get back to my PC I might be able to share more.

Actually, I think the Conus is a pretty straightforward build in wood. Almost all straight lines. Here's the pdf from Arturo.

That is actually why I never made the printed version. They are an easy build, the genius is in the design.

Ok wll, you've got mail. I expect to see this printed, banded, and pics of a can shot in the morning when I get up.

For anyone else who would like a copy of this file, I am happy to share it with the community, but this is still in the prototype stage. You can PM me, give me an email to send it, or wait and see how wll makes out with his version before you take the time. It might need a tweak or two but I think it will be a nice shootable sling as it is. As the creator of this STL file, I will be the first to say that 3D printed slings are NOT a replacement for tried and true wood or other proven synthetic materials. They are fun, quick builds that can give you an idea of a frame.

Well here she is, 3D printed out and it feels darn good.

I did not put the flats on super tight as I'm tired as heck and will do this tomorrow. I really like the way it feels and soon as work slows down I'll go out and shoot her.

Palmettoflyer, I greatly thank you for my first ever Conus ;)

Nice, glad it printed ok. Looking at the picture, you may need to sand a little bevel on the sharp edge where the bands tie. But overall, it looks like a Conus. Give us the shooting report when you have time.

Be sure to give Arturo credit. All I did was trace the lines from his template in Fusion 360. Arturo is responsible for the magic that happens when you shoot it.

I'm going to make another one and round off the corners a bit more for sure. The 50% infill feels good and I think it is very strong. (I think my buddy used Tough PLA from MatterHackers).

Yes indeed, Arturo design is absolutely brilliant in its simplicity. Thank you Arturo for bringing this design to the slingshot world. I'm REALLY looking forward to trying it out ;- )

Just sent you an email with Rev2. Put a little radius on the sharp edge where the band ties. Might help. But if you don't want to slice it again, just a few passes with sand paper would take care of it. Let me know if you see any other tweak it needs?

Arturo, did you ever think the Conus would make it to the 3D printed design? I drew this up a while back while studying the shape and learning to draft compound curves in Fusion 360. Never needed to print it, because I have such a wonderful Ulmo wood version. Good to see you here and hope you are doing well?

Honestly never thought it could be 3D printed, high tech LOL ! thanks for your time and work with the Fusion 360 software to make it possible ... I'm fine Monroe, shooting a ton with the wide gap Samurai to adjust the release ... and waiting next med control
