    Hello Slingshot Community Friends!!
I present here my latest homemade slingshot, inspired on the works of the great chinese craftsman, GZK. Carved with hand tools, it was finished with linseed oil and natural beeswax.
    Hope you like it!!
    Cheers ...Q

Many thanks for your feedback, my friend!!!
It shoots very well. This type of "mushroom" fork tips present some qualities for better accuracy and stability of the flatband set. I shall post further new informations about this.

That will be really interesting to read and see. I created a frame some time ago with half round tips, still rectangular but half round front to back. I noticed I got a lot more hand slap using it for some reason so I am interested to hear if this mushroom tip does the same?

Thanks for the replies, my friends!!!!
The wood is an unknown one, Brazilviking, but I suspect is a species of wild fruit tree.
In terms of the flatbands performance, I do notice some interesting points. I shall try to enumerate them:

1- The rounded fork tips does seems to contribute for a longer band life.
2- The "mushroom" configuration of the fork tip makes the attachment band/fork tip more secure and helps accuracy, in my point of view.
3- This design seems more adequate to a speed shot,i.e., to shoot targets in motion or to reload more faster.
4- Strangely, in my tests yesterday, the slingshot performed well with much wider bands than the diameter of the fork tip. This means that no rubber power was lost in a smaller contact surface.

Thank you for your interest, my friends!! I shall be giving further feedback on this subject!!!

      Cheers ...Q

I've always wanted to make one of these from beech but I can never get the forks the right shape. Good job by the way I like it.

Thank you so much, my friend!!!
Actually, my slingshots are always very different (and with much less wood!!) than the original raw forks!! A very sharp carving knife and some dexterity is all that suffice for you to create any shape you want!! :) Cheers ...Q
Thanks a lot for your feedback, my friend!!!
