I have to tell you guys... I'm pretty intrigued by the lever bow by @A+ Slingshots.

Has anyone ever tried one before??

August I sure have. One of my prototypes was a flat band lever shooter. Worked fine, but as a Slingbow in real world hunting conditions I opted for and settled on tubes for their longevity, untangled simplicity and ease of getting the power needed for launching a legal hunting weight arrow. I felt those positives far outweighed any slight speed performance flats might provide.

I agree Toddy, when using this innovation on a slingshot with very heavy bands, a release like Perry's Rotary Archery Release here would likely be useful.

But I have to back up a step. I've been thinking about this some more and now think that the long tail on the A+ Slingbow is critical to keeping the tension at the fork end of the slingshot manageable as the pouch is drawn. So my proposal of attaching a string to the lanyard hole may not be practical.

Yes it is Ted....it's the leverage of the lever that makes the difference.

Thanks! :) I will say that the $89.99 + shipping is an introductory price. I don't know how long I can keep it there but I plan to do so as long as possible and any increase will still be reasonable for the product.

@Ted don't give up just yet as I believe there is a way. I made some cupped pouches a while ago so I could use an archery release. The only reason I gave up on them was because loading was a little slower but combined with the A+ lever and the extra power available then they may still be viable. Would it not be possible to drill a hole into the base of the sling handle and glue a metal tube in (for added strength), then you could push a separate lever bar in as required? Even adding a locking pin so it stays in place?
Just throwing ideas out there really.

@A+ Slingshots Any chance of showing how you make up the tube sets please, and what type of tube is used. These are not available over here made up. Thanks. I do understand if you're making them up a special way and don't want to reveal it though.

@Toddy that's a great idea and I believe it would work.

Thanks for understanding my friend...they are a bit special in quite a few ways, and since I make my living designing and making things like the Lever Bow and it's bands I kind of feel I need to keep some specifics to myself. If and when I retire, I'm of a mind to give away all my secrets for everyone's fun but I'm not there yet. ;)

9/17/14 UPDATE: Here is the latest and what I consider to be the best review video of our LEVER BOW by well known traditional archery expert and teacher MK Greyarcher of YouTube notoriety. He has really started getting it "zeroed in" and seems to really be having a blast with it. It's a bit long so grab a cup of coffee and watch it all... it's worth it!! Cheers!!

Summary: “It makes me smile, and it’s just a bunch of fun!"

Thanks for the update, @A+ Slingshots . He’s very impressed with its accuracy. So am I. And he’s pulling 50# at 18M and 40M !!!

These looks like so much fun. Time to start thinking about Christmas. He is such a blast to watch, and I think he’s correct. An awesome compact survival bow.

You need to send him some 40# tubes. Pronto. :D
