What a cool day, man.

    As I've said a bunch of times, my dad and uncle have always told my brother and I stories of always having a slingshot around their necks as kids.
    And my brother and I pretty much always had something around to shoot and shoot at.

    But since my dad hasn't been in the best health this year, of course I've been hoping he could come home from the hospital and fling some with his brother, boys and grandkids.

    Having a bunch of time in the hospital with him, I had time to whittle and saw a few slingshots at dinner and launches at home, then bring them back to him in his hospital bed for his approval.

    Today was literally a dream come true for me.
    My dad, son, brother and and uncle-Bill, laughing, shooting, telling stories and cussin' at cans.

    If anybody ever asks me how powerful a slingshot is, I'm gonna laugh inside and say "Real effin' powerful."

      A day of memories for sure! Nothing better than sharing the fun with family. Dad looks like he's got a good handle on his form too. Not his first shots for sure!

      I have always been estranged from my family (No troop likes a pink monkey.) Seeing a gathering of 3 generations having fun with each other warms the cockles of my flinty lil' heart. Good on all of you.

      Ha! You should have seen and heard us when he hit the can the first time. I think it was the 3rd or 4th shot with his new one.
      He was tryin' to play it cool but I could see him holding in a cheer. Lol

      It really was a banner day around here.

      Other than a quick roll around the house or a Dr appointment dad hasn't wanted to go outside.(he thinks 72 degrees is "cold" at this point.lol)
      But he was outside for 2 or 3 hours Sunday and is ready to do it asap.

      Dad and uncle Bill don't really adhere to any style. Sometimes it looks like they're aiming, and sometimes they just pull off to one side and let 'er rip instinctively.
      My son and brother both use a floating anchor out by their eye like dad's doing in the picture.

      Ahh, man.. There were a bunch of years here where my brother and I took turns being exiled. Either by choice or circumstance.
      So the specialness of the day wasn't lost on us. [emoji173]
