Maybe I shouldn't jinx myself but, I've had a set of bands on my sparrow...going on 3 months now and I shoot it a lot. it got me to wondering if latex wears out by the time and loses any of its speed. I was alsowondering if anyone had any evidence to back this up since I don't have a chrony.
    thanks

What does happen is that they stretch overall relaxed length. Throughout the life of my bands they will stretch about 1/2" or more for butterfly shooters, which adds to the length of your bands lessening the stretch factor of say 5 to 1 is now 4 something slowing your overall speed. I've measured on chronys and it does change speeds.

      Exactly what @Bone said.
The only thing I would add is that (especially if you are shooting tapers) the band usually break near the pouch. So if you cut them off near the break and even both sides up, then retie the pouch it brings you back near the original length. And near original performance! And that adds 400 to 500 shots to a set of bands!
      Whoop, whoop!

Bone has said it, it is so and keep them out of the light. I use cigar boxes and the bulk is in a large micrometer case.
