Info need it! :)

Hey guys I am looking for a little bit of knowledge, I want to get some ideas for a target set set up, my boy is turning 7 and he really like shooting my crosman 1322, i made some mods to it an is fun, but it doesn't really fits him right and I think he would do really well if the rifle would be tailored for him.
To be honest I dont know where to start, i know things have change a lot in the last be few year any advise would be really appreciated it, looking forward to learn.

I have a couple or crosman 2250’s which is similar to the 1322 but are co2 powered. They are great little rifles. When I was your sons age I started with a daisy red rider BB gun. If the stock is to long on your 1322 the only thing I can think of would to try to shorten it some how. There is a lot of custom parts for the 1322’s but I’m not sure if the make a shorter stock for it or not. I know you can buy the original one very cheaply. Sorry I couldn’t be of anymore help.

 

I don't know your 7-year-old, but I think most would be delighted with a Red Ryder. Or the smaller Buck. They are good can plinkers. I have one that's less than 10 years old, and would buy another if I gave it away or something.
And, if you two are so inclined, you could mod the heck out of either one.

This should be a good fit and is well made. It will be accurate enough for longer range shooting as he improves. This is a pellet only air rifle. I suggest using pellets and not BB's. BB's ricochet much more than pellets. Do NOT buy the super light high speed pellets. They are inaccurate junk made to appease the velocity junkies. I suggest the Crosman Premier dome or flat nose pellets.

If you don't think he will be able to cock this rifle then look at something like a Beeman QB78 CO2 rifle. It's an adult size gun but inexpensive so you can cut the stock shorter without feeling bad. The single stroke pump guns can be a good choice but sometimes hard to pump. A multi pump can be used with just a pump or two, which shouldn't be too difficult.

I’ve been thinking of getting one of the adult size Red Ryders. I think it would be fun shooting cans in the back yard with but you do have to be careful of ricochet with BB guns for sure.
