    ok guys, be gentle...

This is my first Conus attempt, i got my hands on a very big piece of Mezquite, and i figured maybe a conus would be right for it.

I ended up with a kind of apocrifal attempt, a samurai conus with a wide gap, but all in the spirit of Master @Arturo Borquez design.

I hope you like it, i'm still waiting for the beeswax to dry so i can band it up and give it a try!!

Beautiful, looks really nice. You did a great job on the carving and that is a very nice piece of wood. Congratulations on your first Conus build.

Tell us more about shooting it? Straight pouch, or PFS? Band length, ammo size, pouch size? Not much info on what works well with the Wide Fork design.

That is the beauty of the Conus, you make it yours. The plans and templates are only suggestions.

Shooting precise .60 bands, cut 20mm to15mm at the pouch, straight pouch cuz' its a wide gap, i shoot full butterfly, so i cut it to 33cms active length, my draw lenght is 151 cms and i aƱways shoot 3/8 steel ammo fun as hell to shoot, same shooting styke, aim point and amchir point as my axiom style frame, since it,s 8cms fork width

      Hope this helps!!

      I love that Conus!
I suspect most of the Conuses in existence are someone's first Conus build. It's like an irresistible draw. Your's looks great! There are a lot of cool features in that piece of Mesquite!
I'm sure it will be a treasure for you. But now, every small log is going to call out to you, "Hey, Bimbo, I want to be a Conus!"

      Thanks @KawKan !!
Indeed, the conus has a kind of calling, it's an awesome looking design and a great feeling frame, really comfortable to shoot on a long session, i've just put in about 100 shots and still going!! I will definetly make myself a couple more!!

Good to know that the standard setup worked ok. Occasionally a few of my prototype test shots, the pouch would hang up going through the fork gap. I didn't have enough time to work out if it was me, the pouch, or my frame. Haven't had time to get back to it.
