I know how that is. I had a caretaker job out in Wa, stare on a farm. I spent 3 months in a tent with a pad. I am not complaining but, comforts are good

moving is hell and the older you get the worse it gets. We just moved to a new house and I have decided my next home will be the funeral home because at 70+ this move like to have killed me!!

I took in roommates so I could work less. My knees can't handle 15 hours.

My wife and I just bought a lake house. No retiring for me for 15 more years. I start as an IT tech in a month for the city of Doraville Ga. I been fixing and turning wrenches for almost 19 years now. A career change is way overdue.

I've worked in IT since the 1980s. It can be a fulfilling career, but it can also be very stressful and filled with overtime. You just have to be careful when picking a job; usually you can tell in the interview process.
Typically working IT for a city government is pretty laid back, but you might be on call during odd hours. When that happens they usually compensate you with hours off, though. Good luck!
