I bought an escooter to putt around on. I was riding along happily yesterday then woke up in the ER. First time in my life I was KO'd. two fractured ribs, 7 stitches, concussion, sprained wrist and some scrapes. Helmet probably saved my life. Pain and headache isn't too bad. Nothing a couple of tylenol cant handle.

I got knocked out in Building Trades class in High School. A boy was carrying a long 4x4 on his shoulder. The teacher called him and when he turned around to answer him, he swung that heavy, salt treated 4x4 and caught me in my Gerber spot and knocked me out cold as ice. The next time I got knocked cold out was Federal Law Enforcement School. We were practicing Gerber Slaps. I had a big Cajun as my partner thru school. He was a little over zelous that day. The next time I got knocked out was when a doctor was setting a spriral fracture 2 inches above my elbow after a very long arm wrestling match with a Marine. We just held each other forever, I hossed on him and it snapped. It required 9 hours of surgury to put it all back together with steel plates with screws and remove all the bone fragments...

Anyway I hope you feel better. What don't kill you, makes you stronger....I think.

Once slipped on some ice and hit the back of my head. Literally saw my world go black and fade to a pinpoint of light, but then that point grew back to full focus. Hate thinking about what might have happened if things went totally dark! Get well soon!

PS Wanna guess what I'm NOT getting my son for Christmas?!

Thanks for the well wishes from everyone here. It was weird because I was out for probably close to an hour and I dont remember anything. I'm going to see if i can get the surveillance video from the Shell station across the street to find out what the hell happened.

    Happy trails!

That was a serious bump on the head to wake up in the ER.

My out cold was nothing as dramatic as what already has been told.

In my senior year in a soccer game we were at the top of the penalty area of the goal we were defending, I had a collision serious enough I was down for a second or two. Got up and began to play, thinking the goal we were defending was what I needed to score on. Luckily, I didn't get the ball until I figured it out.

Yup! Went over the handlebars wile mountain biking in Virginia mountains. I landed on my head, crushed my helmet and woke up looking down at dripping blood and 2 shiny shoes.

A park ranger was asking me what day it was?...I dunno.
    Where are you? .....I dunno

My friend that I was riding with then came back from putting the bikes in the truck and told me he knew I was in bad shape when he told me a dozen times when I kept asking him what happened?

Good luck on a speedy recovery Crow, those head injuries are no joke !!

Been out cold four times, 2 of them almost the same way.

In 4th grade, was standing on a Wood chair and slipped off landing on the top of it right on the tip of my tail bone, woke up laying face down on the hot pavement….the other similar time I was on night CQ duty in the Army, went to sit down after making my rounds, missed the danged chair and fell right on my tailbone again, narrowly missing a 105 Howitzer shell casing with my head.

Another time in high school, had built a custom BMX bike, and the pedal arms were too long for the frame, but decided I would race my buddy down the road anyway…..got up some speed going down a huge hill and the tip of my foot got caught under the pedal arm and I tumbled end over end, all the way down that damn hill, and danged near broke my ankle. I went to stand up and dropped like a rock, out for over 3 mins.

Another time I tripped on the metal lip of a freight dock, that someone had caught with the forklift blade and bent up slightly, and I fell head first out the dock door, landing on my wrists and passed out from the pain.

Hope you heal up soon brother.
