I get adverts on Facebook with stainless frames and custom frames etc, but they're never available and thier website only offers a few frames now?

I remember years ago when there were some amazing frames on there... what happened? It isn't just simoleshot - pocket predator have gone down the same road! Bad... bad bad bad! Get back to what made you famous please! We loved that

I am 31 years old and have been shooting slingshots since i was 13. I saved some pocket money and brought myself a black widow catapult, I shot at everything. Drinks cans, bottles, fruit - you name it. Nearly twenty years later and not alot has changed, bigger hairier, but still a big kid at heart! I have been hunting for several years now and untill very recently was a dedicated looped tube shooter. I shoot OTT and my favourite slingshot has to be my scout. Mr-S

I'm so glad it isn't just me - he only offers hdpe moulded frames now? Why the fck are they both doing that now?

Try proshotuk.com - they stock the Pp new models too, that's where I got my scorpion!

I want the g10, stainless frames on the sites still! They even changed the design!

My scorpion doesn't have tube holes or aiming dimples like the originals did. It's a damn shame

I miss the g-10 frames I just couldn’t afford all of them at the time. I have picked a couple on the forums here and there.

I didnt shoot ttf back then, plus the frames (shipped to uk) were expensive.

But now I shoot ttf exclusively I'm left with this shit... it's frustrating. Can't understand why they did it

I really like his seal sniper I know why he discontinued that one and made the ranger tac just an ott frame but at the same time I do shoot better with a pocket predator frame.

This scorpion is the best frame (not quality wise as its only hdpe) but design and fit - for me is perfect. Now he just needs to get the nice models back in store so I can get my hands on one lol

Bill stopped making customs for health reasons. The G10 dust was getting to him as he posted on Slingshot Forum. Best you can do is his plastic frames or Pro Shot. I have both a Pocket Ranger and the full size cast Ranger that Bill gifted me.

Ah! I get why he did it now...

But he could have atleast kept the mould the same. His new ones don't have aiming dimples or tubes holes - it's a shame. Don't get my wrong I long shooting this scorpion but I wish I'd got an original one.

It'll have to be a proshot model but I kinda don't like the shiny aluminium [emoji852]

Maybe when the time comes I'll contact one of the makers for a custom one. I dunno

Unfortunately I can't comment much on the complacency of today's market..

"If you want a new color of excatly the same shooter we've sold for years though.. ... It's kinda like getting a blue Big Mac,,. It's exactly the same plasticky material, but its blue. "

Right. The same "plasticy msterial" is great for the back garden or kids - and don't get me wrong they're still lovely frames to shoot. But it just isn't the same! As an adult I want the option of a "nicer version"

And it isn't just PP, simpleshot have done the same. Pulled all their nice frames and just offer moulded plastic now. I'm not slating thier products coz like I said - they are still nice frames to shoot! But... grrrrrr!

I must be the odd one out here, I shoot mainly plastic or molded frames for day to day shooting and when I take one camping or out for a hike etc. When I want to feel fancy, I pull out my fancy frames and enjoy the luxury feel.

As for them not making them, there are plenty of other custom makers that will step up to the plate and gladly make you one. There are a ton of great makers on here that have caught up to those guys or even passed them. People want Bill & Nathan frames for the sentimental, historical or collectability. I haven't seen them put out any frames that are nicer than ones I see from guys here making in their basements of shops. Don't get me wrong, I would love a Nathan custom, but I'm not going to pay used market $300 for it, when I can get a Martin Whippet (comes to mind as I have bought one from him) for $100.

The time to spend to communicate the customization is not enough compensated for a seller targeting for volume sales. you'd better to find some individual seller to get your design or requirement implemented.

The reason we don't offer customs any longer is two fold...
First, building the same thing over and over again becomes tedious and takes the fun and joy out of the effort. Furthermore, when one spends 8+ hours on a build and and the market will not support compensation commensurate with the time invested, it is demoralizing...then to have someone smash it from a fork hit then demand a refund or repair...Not fun, not worth the effort or hassle.

Secondly and most important, the materials that folks want such as G10, carbon fiber, and micarta is very toxic when sanded and machined. It requires a dedicated shop space with advanced air filtration to begin to be to be safe. Even with safety precautions in place there is still considerable health risks to the builder and the nearby occupants.

Our goal has always been and always will be, to provide quality products at a reasonable price and offer the best customer support and experience possible. We take pride in the fact that we provide our employees with a comfortable living and safe and healthy workplace. Custom slingshot manufacture just doesn't fit this model.

      @SimpleShot
No refunds on fork hits...what kind of operation are you running there.

Your explanation makes sense. Thanks for shredding some light on it

...in today's world of the Amazon educated and coddled consumer, to not offer a refund or eat their mistake is just begging for a keyboard warrior to flame our company anywhere they can.

It seems as though personal accountability is a distant memory we all recall with fuzziness.

Our favorite is when folks send back a slingshot with chunks of rock embedded in the frame and swear till the cows come home that they didn't shoot rocks!
