Well this is an interesting one, not to sure how I feel about that grip... but an interesting concept for sure. :)

These printers are getting cheaper and better every day it appears. One day I'll have my own Starship Enterprise replicator :)
Oh and seriously there is now a carbon fibre one on the market.
The frame the guy is using in the video was, errrr less than satisfactory ;)

I'm not to sure how I feel about the design either, but the grip is what throws me to be honest.

I don find it to be interesting though. You're right, these printers are getting nuts!!!

I sooooo want one of these before they are banned here. And they will be banned here because there is no way to stop people making carbon fibre guns.

That's like banning people from having a cnc mill or lathe. Anyone can make a gun with those tools as well. If I were you, I'd just save every penny. It looks like you can get one for less then $1000.00 US now!

Yeah I have seen the basic types for as low as £400 now. That is true re the CNC or Lathe but these suckers make working guns out of materials that sensors do not detect. Maybe I am wrong and they won't get banned here but I'll put a shiny penny on it happening.

Thanks for the link John, really interesting stuff. If you know him you gotta get him here!!

It seems he moved to a "palm grip" due to issues he was having with the pinch grip. While I don't know about that grip, as I have said, sure is interesting stuff. :)

      Hi Folks!

Thanks for the invitation! Thanks John Krakatoa for linking the thread and Clever Moniker for the kind invitation.

Am in a hurry so I promise as am released from my current movie work I will post a general 3D print thread here. Don't know the time, since shooting will start this week and we have to prepare few props to print.

      3D print

There's a huge difference between home printers and industrial printers. Materials, details and design. I'm using industrial laser printers for these stuffs. Main reason is strength and detail. I will explain in the thread, but printing top notch slingshots with home printers is still in the future. However it's good for fast tests and experimenting.

      Palm support
Some people find it cool and handy some not. Depending on wrist bones and hand flexibility. But it was a great experiment for me. Technically and in shooting practice also. Suspended the project, but I have plans to make a gen2 :)

So am here. As mentioned will make a detailed 3d print thread (I call them Printshots). This week is full, hope next will be smoother.

Again, Thanks for the invitation Guys!

So glad to have you come by!!! :) Any contribution you have is more then welcome here.

I'd love to see some of your work as well.

I was dabbling with the idea of 3d printing a slingshot using ABS plastic, I believe that is the term (please correct me if I am wrong). However, I couldn't follow through due to the cost.

      Anyway's, glad your here!! :)

@Tremoside What about the pen-style ammo holders? How much are them?
I am really interested to have one.

      Hi Gaboxolo!

Thanks for the interest and 'am not surprised by the price issue. I had lot of PMs at the other forum about buy of these and most of the people told the same about the price.

Since it is an expensive technology and my chosen materials and printing process are the best in value performance rate I can't make it cheaper. So in conclusion I just don't sell my other stuffs. Pen Pouch is available but nothing more slingshot related.

I made six different 3D printed slingshot models. Published only 3 of them. And some of the designs has multiple versions.

Last week I had a conversation with one of my bosses. I started 3D printing ~5 years ago. At those times he said it will be never affordable enough to invest in a 3D printer. Nowadays he is running an office printer and works with 3 3dprinting companies across the country.

Time will change and 3D prints will be cheaper. However I will loose my time and investment for these models. But learned a lot and had great feedback about my designs.

As a designer it's uplifting for me... if I can create valuable work in my free-time and I can develop new skills.

I hope you enjoy the design and forget about the price :)

      Mark
