Those a + big tube shooters look like awesome slingshots and I am sure they will get the job done. However rubber only retracts at a specific speed and the fastest, hence most powerful, rubber is tapered flat bands unfortunately they also are the fastest to break. Breaking is one reason people chose the tubes but with the right cut and tied the right way, flats can be plenty powerful and last a good many shots.

I am in no way trying to talk you out of buying a big tube slingshot what I am saying is that with the right cut of flat bands it will be more powerful than tubes. In my opinion one of the biggest reasons to use flats like theraband gold is the ability to use the same bands for everything from bbs to 3/4" lead balls.

 

I have the A+ signature unfinished, my favorite plinker. The pinky hole allows for my large hand to lock it in, very accurate, easy to aim or my preference..instinctive shooting, give the wasps the opportunity to hone in on me for a fair fight. I'm proud to say I've clipped the nasty buggers in mid flight.. Though I can't confirm they were hit as there is no body.. Found a HUGE hive in my Jasmine vines hanging over my bedroom window.. I think they're establishing a beach head from which to strike at me.. their chiefest enemy.. on my property.. Wait.. I hear something.. buzzing.. coming from my window.. If I don't make it back.. tell my mom I did my best...Duty calls.

Unless you want to shoot massive lead balls then imho the heavier tubes are pointless (not the A+ frame, just the big tubes). Normal hunting weight lead balls of up to around the 1/2" mark can be shot more efficiently using tube up to the likes of Dankung 4070 or 5080. Personally I prefer double 1745s as they will throw 38 and 44 cal leads superbly with the .44 being my favoured hunting shot.

Unfortunately I have not had the privilege of shooting the A+ big tube hunter but my hands have been described as rather large. Personally I find I just take the design of a decent frame and just elongate the handle to accommodate my use. But it is surprising how adaptable we all are when it comes to holding smaller frames.

 

Thanks for the replies. I'm wanting to hurl those big lead and steel balls as fast as possible. Really want something that is going to fit me well. Think I'll go on and take the plunge on the bth.

Thanks guys, I have a similar shooter, and it doesn't really fit my needs, though it's a fun plinker and can killer. I can't deny that flats seem much more accurate. I just haven't found one that suits me yet, and for now I'm going to try this style and see if it works.

Hahaha, no actually self defense from poisonous snakes. They usually show themselves near my buildings, farming equipment, livestock, etc.
Places where firearms might do costly damage.
Last weekend I had the HTS in my back pocket while weedeating around my shop. This smallish copperhead took a strike or two at me. I took a full butterfly draw and popped him in the head. It was a good clean kill, but I didn't get the damage or the power I was expecting, and if it was a larger snake like a timber rattler I might have just T him off and taken a nasty bite.

 

Beautiful colors on that one. Funny just a couple a days ago I saw a copperhead about that size when I was weedeating as well but the one I saw got under the fence before I could stick the weedeater to him.

Double those bands and put a 1/2" lead ball in the pouch, it will take care of an anaconda with a head shot.

EDIT: but that BTH is cool as hell too and you can never have too many slingshots. HAHAHA

 

Wouldn't advise hitting them with a weedwacker, know a feller got bitten that way

Anyone know of a good chrony app for Android? I had one on my iPhone, but since I took to shooting that piece of junk with marbles, I can't get it to turn on anymore.. so I can't see what I had in there.
